Being the bigger person

It can be exhausting being the bigger person, it can feel unfair.  “Why does it always have to be me?” we ask ourselves.

I struggle with this myself, most recently deciding whether to reach out to someone who had proven time and time again that there was no goodwill towards me, far less concern for my well-being.

I finally did reach out because I realized that I have to live my life according to who I am, not reacting to how I have been treated.

So, when a family member spends decades trying to catch you in a lie that never was, or someone spreads untruths to the point that it harms your ability to work, see their pain, insecurity and lack of self-awareness as a way to extend grace.

Easier understood that done I know, but worth being yourself through every circumstance.
